Seeing Is Believing

When we visited Thailand , we were there to be filmed for a new web series, “Destinations Less Known”. Meanwhile, these videos, which we’ve shared below, give you the chance to see first-hand where you’ll stay and what you’ll experience. That is to say they also give you the opportunity to meet us, and to see our passion for this destination, and the experiences we want our guests to enjoy on this tour. We know there are many Thailand tours available, so we hope these videos help you to see what’s unique about traveling with us.

Tour Highlights

Koh Samui

In Koh Samui, we’ll kick off our sandals and enjoy one of the island’s most beautiful resorts, Banyan Tree Koh Samui. Villas at this resort are built on a spectacular hillside overlooking a private beach and bay.

In Koh Samui, you’ll enjoy tropical villa life at it’s best, with your own infinity pool, spacious suite, and of course, a spectacular view of the private bay. It’s got to be seen to be believed, so click above and enjoy!

Though you may be tempted to never leave your room, you’ll want to experience the resort’s many fine dining options, including it’s signature Saffron restaurant. And spa lovers will not want to miss the world-class Rainforest Spa, a totally unique world-class spa experience featured in the video above.

Bangkok

We’ll take a custom tour of the thriving international city of Bangkok, where ancient temples and modern luxury combine to form one of the world’s most unique cities. We’ll tour the spectacular Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the iconic Wat Saket, the Temple of the Golden Mount, and the Grand Palace, Bangkok’s Royal Compound. We’ll also explore the city’s canals and byways from the water, as we cruise the Chao Phraya river in a fully restored Thai Rice Barge.

In Bangkok, we’ll experience ancient and modern Bangkok. We’ll enjoy the Apsara Dinner Cruise. This cruise, aboard an authentic renovated Thai rice barge, will feature a gourmet multi-course meal, and unlike most Thai river cruises, it will stop just offshore from the Thai Grand Palace, offering stunning night views and one-of-a-kind photo opportunities. At Banyan Tree Bangkok, guests will have the opportunity to visit Banyan Tree’s signature Moon Bar and dine on the 61st floor’s open-air restaurant, Vertigo, one of Bangkok’s most awe-inspiring rooftop hotspots.

Our home-base in Bangkok will be the magnificent Banyan Tree Bangkok, which offers fine dining, elegant accommodations, and local cultural experiences.

In Bangkok, we’ll take guided tours of the iconic Reclining Buddha Temple, and the majestic Wat Saket, the Temple of the Golden Mount.

From Bangkok, we’ll venture out to the ancient Siamese capital of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO world heritage site. We’ll spend the day on a guided tour exploring these awe-inspiring ruins, and gather a deep understanding of Thai history and culture.

We’ll also journey into a local village, and meet artisans who practice the ancient arts of silk weaving, woodcarving, and silversmithing. Our guides will interpret for us as we ask questions, learn, and connect with local artists.

Phuket

In Phuket, sand, sea, and nature take center stage, as we’ll visit Viking Cave and it’s protected shallow habitat. Explore ”Monkey Beach” and then snorkel in the turquoise waters of the Great Coral Reef. A private boat ride to Phi Phi island will round out our beach-themed day of exploration and adventure.

In Phuket, we’ll stay at the luxurious Phuket Banyan Tree, the flagship hotel in this international luxury chain. It’s open, spacious aesthetic seamlessly blends indoors and outdoors, and traditional and modern. We’ll be sure to watch the beautiful nightly “candle ceremony“, featured in the video above, which is sure to leave a lasting impression.

In the perfect accent to any island adventure, we’ll also indulge in a selection of local cocktails, with a unique twist, as we tour the craft rum distillery of Chalong Bay Rum. This French-owned craft rum is only available in select countries outside of the U.S, so rum aficionados will want to stock up for their private collections, just as we did when we first visited this tropical oasis.

On the other hand, in Phuket we’ll dine at Seedlings restaurant, which is both delicious and socially responsible. Seedlings provides training and mentorship for low income area residents interested in the culinary arts. This is a great opportunity to connect with locals and enjoy great authentic Thai cuisine.

Chiang Mai

On this trip, we’ll journey north to the Chaing Mai region, and experience Northern Thai culture. In Chiang Mai, we’ll enjoy a gourmet Khantoke Northern Thai Dinner, for example. In addition, local performers will perform an array of cultural dances and performances, including the Sword Dance, Fingers Dance, and Candle Dance. Several Hill Tribes will also perform, and our local guides will help us to fully understand and participate in the ancient traditions of the northern Hill Tribes.

In Chaing Mai, our local guides will accompany us on a guided tour of Chiang Mai’s buzzing night markets. The Chiang Mai market is a cornucopia of delights, where everything from local jewelry to fine silk scarves can be had. Fashion-conscious guest can avail themselves of local tailors and get custom-fitted for a full suit, which can be delivered to your room the next day, for instance.

In Chaing Mai, we’ll also venture off-grid in a four-wheel drive vehicle, where we’ll arrive at a local village and then walk to a remote elephant sanctuary. As a result, you’ll have an opportunity to engage with these magnificent, intelligent animals. Meanwhile our guides teach us about these beautiful local creatures, you’ll have the chance to feed, bathe, and for the more adventurous members of the group, join them for a mud bath.

In conclusion, before leaving Chaing Mai, we’ll join the locals in their daily alms-giving, honoring the local Buddhist monks with small offerings and worship.
